    Facebook is a popular free social networking website that allows registered users to create profiles, upload photos and video, send messages and keep in touch with friends, family and colleagues. There are many people in the facebook do code mixing when they made status. Code Mixing usually occurs in bilingual or multilingual community or society and the function (meaning) of the languages can not be clearly separated. This code mixing is used when the conversant use both languages together to the extent that they change from one language to the other in the course of a single utterance. There are three types of code mixing, they are: insertion, alternation, and congruent lexicalization. Insertion occurs when lexical items from one language are incorporated into another. Alternation occurs when structures of two languages are alternated indistinctively both at the grammatical and lexical level. Congruent lexicalization refers to the situation where two languages share grammatical structures which can be filled lexically with elements from either language

    AN ANALYSIS OF INFLECTIONAL MORPHEMES ERRORS IN WRITING A TEXT BY SECOND-YEAR STUDENT OF MAS TPI SILAU DUNIA

    This study was conducted to find out the students’ errors in using inflectional morphemes that include nouns: singular and plural form especially in regular plural and include verb especially in regular verb to form a simple present tense in third person singular. The aims of this study are to know more about errors made by students in using inflectional morphemes, based on the type of the students’ errors are, error of omission, error of addition, error of misformation and error of misordering. The subjects of this study were 35 students at second-year student of MAS TPI SilauDunia 2016/2017. The technique of analyzing data of this study was applied by using quantitative descriptive data. The quantitative were taken from a text that students made. The  descriptive were taken from interview. The result of the analysis showed that the average percentage was the error of omission is 58, 33% (42 errors), error of addition is 38,89 % (28 errors), error of misordering is 0%, and error of misformation is 2,78% (2 errors). It means that error of omission is the highest and most dominant from four types of errors. And error caused by intralingual transfer has the higher percentage 54, 05 % (20 causes) than error caused by interlingual transfer 45, 95 % (17 causes). It means that the cause of intralingual transfer was dominantly occurred in the students’ texts. Key Word: Error Analysis, Inflectional Morpheme

    This study was conducted to find out the students’ reading comprehension achievement in narrative text through team practice technique. This research was applied by class room action research. The technique of analyzing data of this study was applied by using qualitative and quantitative data. The qualitative data were taken from interview, diary notes, observation sheet and documentation. The quantitative data were taken from the best. It indicated that the work technique can improve students’ comprehension achievement in narrative text through team practice technique. It’s strengthened by the result of observation showed that most of the students in teaching learning process were active and serious in joining the lesson.     The Effect of Reading Corner in Improving Students’ Vocabulary Grade XI MAN Binjai

    This research was intended to find out the empirical evidence of the students’ achievement by using reading corner media in improving students vocabulary grade XI MAN Binjai. This research was quantitative research. The population of this research was the students in grade XI MAN Binjai. The sample of this research were taken from 25 students of experimental group (XI-MIA 1) and 25 students of control group (XI-MIA 2). The instrument for collecting data was a test. After analyzed the data, the writer got; (1) The students improvement in vocabulary by using reading corner media got the mean 91.80 and standard deviation was 6.60. (2) The students improvement in vocabulary without using reading corner media got the mean 76,20 and standard deviation was 8.33.  The value of ttest was 7.344 and ttable was 2.011. So, the ttest was higher than ttable. It means that there was significant effect of using Reading Corner Media on students’  improvement in vocabulary.Keywords: Reading Corner, Students Vocabular

    Conversational implicature is one of the most important ideas in pragmatics. The importance of conversational implicatures as a means of conveying messages is directly well established. In conducting this research, the researchers used a qualitative descriptive method. This research is qualitative because the data are in the form of words and analyzed based on the setting or natural context. Qualitative research is a type of research in which data are studied naturally without any treatment or intervention by researchers. Related to teaching English, this research helps students to know about figure of speech – how they are expressed in the context of certain situations. Referring to implicature theory, students know that conversation is more than just a series of exchanges; it consists of exchanges ideas according to norms of conversational cooperation, which can be manipulated to create various meanings. The application of conversational implicatures in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is in the learning process in the classroom between teachers and students. Conversational implicatures in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs can provide several benefits and lessons for all students in learning to speak by increasing students' motivation, interest, and understanding of the learning material

    Merebaknya virus COVID-19 membawa pengaruh negatif bagi seluruh aspek kehidupan masyarakat, seperti kemerosotan dari perekonomian masyarakat. Selain itu, pandemi juga berdampak pada sistem pendidikan di Indonesia. Pengimplementasian pembelajaran online tidak terlepas dari beragam perdebatan, tidak hanya menyangkut sarana dan prasarana tetapi juga menyangkut tujuan dari pendidikan itu sendiri. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggali permasalahan pengaplikasian pembelajaran selama masa pandemi dengan menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Studi literatur ini bertujuan untuk menguraikan kesulitan belajar online yang dirasakan oleh pendidik, peserta didik, dan orang tua peserta didik selama wabah COVID-19 dan solusi yang harus diselesaikan mereka. Data diuraikan secara kualitatif dengan interaksi model, meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Buku teks berbentuk cetak maupun artikel online dari website jurnal berkala, peraturan perundang-undangan, dan sumber signifikan lainnya menjadi sumber data penelitian ini.  Adapun masalah yang dihadapi yaitu siswa mengalamiketerbatasan perangkat seperti gadget atau komputer, kurang antusias untuk mengikuti online pembelajaran, tidak adanya akses internet, besarnya biaya kuota internet.Kata kunci: problema, pembelajaran, daring, pandemi

    AN ANALYSIS OF GRAMMATICAL ERRORS OF USING GOOGLE TRANSLATEFROM INDONESIA TO ENGLISH IN WRITING NARRATIVE TEXT

    This study focuses on the grammatical errors made by GoogleTranslate in translating narrative text from Indonesian to English.Thenarrative text is a text written by class X culinary arts studentsat SMKTunas Karya Batang Kuis. The research method used in conductingthis research is qualitative with content analysis as the researchdesign. It is also known as the document analysis method.It is intendedthat readers will be able to learn about the types of grammar errorsthat occur when using Google Translate and also the most commonerrors. This research discovered that there are two addition errors infive narrative texts. The words are "after and who." There are twodeletion errors. Those are deletion articles and translated people'snames. Replacement errors are the most common, followed by a totalof 17 errors. Among them are replacement errors because theycannot find the right equivalent, translating word for word, pronounsubstitution errors, and translating people's names. The last is amisordering error. There are two misordering errors: that a word ora group of words is placed incorrectly in a sentence. It is intendedthat once readers understand this, they will avoid making the sameerrors and enhance their grammar translation knowledge and skills.Keywords: Google translate, Grammatical errors,Narrative tex
